"Apache Smoke N Fire"
SOLD ~ Thank you Jorgie C.
Nutmeg has a solid brown head with no blaze and the only white on her is a rear left sock. There is no category for a purple or mauve roan and that is why she is registered as blue roan. The brown head shows that she has inherited that awesome seal brown color from her sire and it is brown hair mixed with white hairs. If she was a bay roan, she would have a black head and legs with the red or reddish-brown hairs on her body. This purple-y color is stunning and you can see the difference in the pictures below where she is standing next to her dam. Nutmeg is just a year old and is as tall as Pepper, so she should finish in the 14.2 + range.
She is very athletic, versatile and she has her parents awesome disposition. She would make a great 4-H project horse. She has a champion pedigree that is well worth a peek. Nutmeg is full sister to Royal Apache Feather, the black tobiano on our For Sale Page.
Pepper, Nutmeg's dam, is a true blue roan tobiano mare as there are no grey horses in her pedigree. She is a great addition to our band as she will either pass on a tobiano or a roan gene and thus her foals will always be either a tobiano or a roan every time when bred to a non roan stallion.
Nutmeg's dam, Two Eyed Apache Blue has a champion pedigree - double bred Two Eyed Jack, AQHA's #1 All-Time Leading Sire of Champions, mixed with Skipper W, Question Mark, Joe Reed, King, Peppy San, Poco Bueno, Driftwood Ike, the famous roping horse by Driftwood, and Magnolia Bar, the famous barrel horse sire and son of Three Bars. We can't forget Joe Hancock donated that great roan color as well.
Aug 13, 2019 - Pepper is shedding out again. She looks like a purple roan next to her dam. She is and awesome mauve-y color caused by seal brown hair mixed with white.
